Everyone in Colorado Springs seems to hike the incline at some time. I finally got around to it last friday with my friends Jenny, Dominique, and Brighton. It's an old cable car route that goes straight up the mountain.
This is the view from the bottom, about 6,200 feet
This is the view from the top, about 8,200 feet.
It's a pleasant hike straight up the mountain. The old railroad ties from the old cog create stairs. Some steps are really short, others are higher than my knees. With a 2000 feet elevation change, it makes for a miserable hike. That's why I'm doing it again tomorrow.

I used to do cool things like this. Then I moved to the big city and had babies. Now I just hike the church stairs and walk up and down parking lots. Sigh. I know there is a nature girl hiding inside me somewhere.
I think this hike would kill me now. Glad you made it up.
