Please welcome Dinah to the family

I finally got my Meyer Lemon Tree. I ordered her on the Internet and a few days later she came in the mail. She stunk like the dickens, but after potting her, the smell subsided. As you can see she has a small lemon already growing. The Meyer Lemon tree is a dwarf cross between a Mandarin tree and a lemon tree. Grandpa said he used to have one in his yard. He said the fruit is like nothing you've ever tasted (meaning it's really good). I read that it's supposed to taste like lemonade.
Anyway, she can't be outside in under 50 degree weather, so dad has been lugging her in and out all week while I've been up in Denver. She's kind of a high maintenance tree as it turns out. But she's supposed to flower and produce fruit every six months. I'm naming her Dinah after my penpal growing up, who kept writing me even when I never once wrote her. I'm hoping my little tree will be just as persevering and survive.

Those are the best lemon trees. My mom had one in California. She misses her tree! Can't wait to meet her!
